Science is Cool Pocket Lab Workshop
This virtual conference was a great way to access something that would normally not be available in my local community. The information that was shared from guest presenters about their own experiences in school and how they like how their teacher did certain things like getting the community involved. Inquiry based projects in science and not labeling students on their skills or weakness was something that was also share in the workshop. A large list of resources was shared for the presentation and the community of eager teachers attending the workshop was felt.

Mindfulness and Self-compassion
The resources and tools that I learned from this course are something that I have started practicing and plan to continue in the future. The course was focused on working on individual well-being through compassion practices. This was a six week course which created a habitual space to continue and begin to make small changes in my life. The timing of this course worked perfectly because of it being later in the semester when the most pressure to finish up the semester. I think that being a teacher there will be many times where there is time constraint similar to at the end of a university semester and now I have the tool to support me through these times of equanimity.
Dance Play EDCO 3100
Starting the Bachelor of Education with Roxane Letterlough teaching us Dance Play was a fantastic way to start off the first year. I think that it was a big reason why I feel so comfortable in the class and with my classmates. I love to move and using dance moves and play to help connect us to the animals and land made me feel alive. Learning about the Indigenous connections to the animals and the land was also a wonderful part of this Dance Play.
